This is the home for Open Social Studies (formerly called Understanding Our World) which is an inquiry-based and
literacy-focused social studies curriculum for Grades K-6 (click on the K-6 button below).

Notice: The curriculum for Kindergarten is now released (Updated 8/15/22).

Currently, the Open Social Studies team is developing, in partnership with Primary Source, a Grades 5-7
social studies curriculum funded by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE).
It is scheduled for release in summer 2023. See here for more information.
